Hardworking and personable, Ian prides himself on being a trustworthy legal advisor.

Ian’s practice focuses predominantly on complex commercial litigation.  He has significant expertise in class actions, representing both plaintiffs and defendants on diverse claims ranging from unpaid overtime to foreign currency exchange issues.  Ian has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and as counsel at the Supreme Court of Canada, where he previously served as a law clerk.

Ian is a member of the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Class Actions section, has lectured at law schools on a number of class action topics, and has written articles for a number of publications including the Annual Review of Civil Litigation, Canadian Class Action ReviewCanadian Lawyer, Banking and Finance Law Review, and the Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science.

Ian is actively involved with Pro Bono Ontario, regularly volunteering to assist self-represented litigants in matters before the Court of Appeal and Divisional Court.
