Bio
Tyler is developing a broad litigation practice. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, where he assisted judges with legal research and the preparation of reasons for decision. While at Western Law, Tyler received the Stephen G.A. Pitel Award in Private International Law, was named to the Dean’s Honour List and graduated with Distinction.
Outside his legal practice, Tyler serves as a Naval Warfare Officer in the Naval Reserve. In 2022, he deployed to West Africa on Operation PROJECTION, for which he was awarded the Special Service Medal and a Certificate of Commendation from the Canadian Joint Operations Command. In addition to serving as a bridge watchkeeper, Tyler qualified as a Ship’s Team Diver and Supervisor, receiving training in the underwater detection and neutralisation of limpet mines.
Tyler’s decade of service as a Naval Warfare Officer has sharpened his ability to solve complex problems, make decisions under pressure and adapt to challenging circumstances. He brings these skills to his litigation practice, helping clients navigate their most demanding legal disputes.
