LOLG Successfully Upholds Summary Dismissal of Finders’ Fee Claim on Appeal

On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, the Court of Appeal for Ontario dismissed an appeal from the decision of Justice Pinto of the Superior Court of Justice granting summary judgment to the Defendants and dismissing the action entirely. The underlying claim was for the payment of a Finders’ Fee arising from an introduction made in connection with an initial public offering. The Court of Appeal upheld the lower court’s finding that there was no enforceable agreement between the parties. Niklas Holmberg acted for the successful Defendants and Respondents on appeal.
