Lax O’Sullivan Scott Lisus Lawyers At The Supreme Court Of Canada

Overview

On October 17, Jonathan Lisus, Eric Hoaken and Ian Matthews appeared on behalf of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health at the Supreme Court of Canada in a pivotal case that will determine the scope and meaning of a Criminal Code provision that applies to hospitals who treat mentally ill offenders.  The appeal engaged complex questions of liberty and security of the person in the context of the provision of involuntary medical treatment.
