Nadia specializes in litigation, with a focus on complex commercial litigation, class actions and land development disputes.  She has extensive trial experience, having acted as counsel in trials, arbitrations and administrative hearings involving a number of industries and subject-matters. Nadia has both Canadian and U.S. law degrees and is also fluent in French, representing clients from Quebec and Montreal. She is fluently bilingual and has been recognized as a leading practitioner in Best Lawyers Annual Guide for four years in a row, as a Rising Star by Lexpert and as one of Canada’s top lawyers under 40 by Benchmark Litigation.

Some of Nadia’s major representative matters include:

  • Acting as counsel to the former Chief Justice of Ontario, the Honourable Warren K. Winkler, Q.C., who has been appointed by the Superior Court of Justice as the Court-Appointed Mediator to mediate a global resolution of the ongoing tobacco litigation which involves claims totaling almost $1 trillion in Canada.
  • Acting as counsel in a high profile class action involving the destruction of human biological reproductive materials arising from the failure of a cryopreservation storage tank. The class members are patients of a fertility clinic that operated the failed tank;
  • Acting as counsel to the former Premier of Ontario and members of staff in the Elliot Lake Public Inquiry;

In addition, Nadia completed an in-depth secondment at BMO Nesbitt Burns and, as a result, has significant experience working with in-house counsel. She is also regularly sought out by legal publications and newspapers for commentary on new and trend-setting developments in law.

Nadia was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006.  She obtained a joint LL.B / J.D. from the University of Ottawa and Michigan State University, as well as a Civil Law Certificate from the Universidad de Panamericana in Mexico.
