Quadrangle Group LLC v. Canada (Attorney General) 2015 ONSC 7346

Back to all cases

Acting for a New York private equity firm in a claim against the Government of Canada regarding the demise of wireless services provider Mobilicity, in which the private equity firm was major investor.  The claim is for negligent misrepresentation, intentional interference with economic relations, abuse of public office, unlawful appropriation, and unjust enrichment.  It spans a period of ten years, and is focused on bureaucratic and political interference in the Canadian wireless services industry.  We successfully defended a motion to strike brought by the Attorney General (2015 ONSC 1521, leave to appeal denied 2015 ONSC 7346) and successfully brought a motion to have the Attorney General’s selected discovery witness removed for conflict of interest (2019 ONSC 1478).
