A highly persuasive advocate, Andrew provides practical and strategic guidance to help clients achieve the best possible results.

Andrew’s practice includes commercial litigation, insolvency, corporate governance, shareholder disputes, contract litigation and departing employee cases. He is experienced counsel in arbitrations of business disputes and appears regularly before the Ontario courts, including the Court of Appeal and the Toronto Commercial List.

Andrew has acted as counsel in many significant proceedings, including one of the few cases where a Plan of Arrangement was not accepted for filing in a CCAA proceeding, the successful pursuit of interlocutory injunctions in a trade-mark action, a defamation action, and a successful appeal concerning the subrogated rights of an insurer when a commercial landlord covenants to pay for insurance and the tenant causes damages to the premises. He has also acted as counsel in many arbitrations concerning shareholder and partnership disputes, including disputes over exit mechanisms such as rights of first offer and rights of first refusal.

Andrew is a University of Toronto Faculty of Law alumni mentor, and he provides pro bono services to Furniture Bank, a Toronto charity that helps homeless people transition to permanent accommodations. He currently serves on the 10+ Standing Committee of the Advocates’ Society, where he is the co-chair of the 10+ Mentoring Working Group, and he is a Member-at-Large of the Insolvency Litigation Practice Group.
