Zain Naqi recently spoke to The Toronto Star on a rare request for an “extraordinary” publication ban on the identities of police officers involved in the 2020 death of Ejaz Choudry. Zain acted for the Canadian Muslim Lawyers’ Association, which argued against the publication ban in favour of the open court principle and the interests of racialized communities in a transparent, accountable judicial process.
